Our Birth Doulas
Katy Gladwin
Birth Doula | Childbirth Educator | Women’s Health and Fertility Coach
Katy Gladwin, BS, CBD, NBC-HWC Has been serving families as a doula & childbirth educator for over a decade in the Ann Arbor Area. After completing a BS in Human Biology/Premed, she found her calling as an advocate for birthing families as a doula.
As a perpetual student, Katy is dedicated to discovering and sharing new and traditional information to support her friends, family, and clients in their health and wellness. After seeing so many gaps in care for pregnant and postpartum women, she completed a rigorous and comprehensive training as a national board-certified women’s health coach – with the goal of supporting women where they are in having happy healthy pregnancies, and vibrant and resilient postpartum transitions.
Katy offers many ways to work with her, from pre-conception consults for fertility coaching, pregnancy and birth education and in-person support, to postpartum preparation and overall integrative health and healing.
Katy currently lives in the woods with her partner, her 10 year-old son and 4 year-old daughter, and sweet dog. There isn’t much she loves more than a good bulletproof mocha, and in her free time, when she’s not studying, you can find her playing with her kids by the creek, or hiding out and netflix-knitting by herself.
Rachel Rice & Rebecca Barikmo
Birth Doula Partnership
Rachel & Rebecca are a pair of sisters that had babies within a few months of each other – through their own births and supporting each other through pregnancy and postpartum, a passion for doula work was also born. For the past two years, the doula team has been supporting families bringing their children into the world with compassionate care and evidence based support.
Rachel’s unique expertise as a certified labor and postpartum doula, child life specialist, childbirth educator, educator of infant massage, and bachelor’s degree in family life education allow her to meet the needs of each family member she is working with. She possesses a calm, reassuring presence that relaxes babies and parents alike. She lives with her husband Anthony, her son Milo, daughter Zola, and Chihuahua named Chicken.
Becca holds a B.S. from Michigan State University, is a trained labor and postpartum doula and placenta encapsulator. Her doula superpower is being able to intuitively tailor support to be what birthing person, family or baby needs in the moment. She lives with her husband Kirk, daughter Violet and son Beau.
Both doulas are adult & pediatric CPR certified.

Sharon Quinn
Owner | Backup Birth Doula | Childbirth Educator
Sharon Quinn (she/her), (CD)DONA, has worked as a certified doula and birth instructor since 2013, empowering individuals and families to navigate the journey to parenthood with confidence. After teaching the Bradley Method for 6 years, she became an Evidence Based Birth® Instructor, and completed her second doula certification through DONA International in 2019. Because Sharon is Spinning Babies® trained and studied Psychology and Sociocultural Anthropology (BS/BA-double major), she views birth through a physical, emotional, and social lens. In addition, she is a certified Survivor Mom’s Companion Tutor and works to help trauma victims take control of their birth choices. Unfortunately, Sharon occasionally needs to travel out of state for graduate school at Johns Hopkins University and is consequently no longer accepting doula clients. Repeat clients can reach out to her through email to check on availability. When in MI, she’ll enthusiastically serve as a back-up doula for her colleagues.
Sierra Hillebrand
Backup birth doula
Sierra Hillebrand (she/her) is a queer femme doula, psychotherapist and perinatal educator. She has been supporting parents and families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum adjustment since 1997, when she began working both as a self-employed doula and as an apprentice midwife with New Moon Midwifery. Sierra worked as a Certified Professional Midwife with Trillium Birth Services from 2001-2005. Afterwards, she went on to obtain a master’s degree in clinical psychology from the Center for Humanistic Studies (now Michigan School for Professional Psychology) in 2006, and has worked as a psychotherapist since that time. Sierra’s work as a therapist focuses on trauma, attachment, perinatal adjustment, and mood disorders. In addition to her psychotherapy practice, Sierra continues to support families as a birth doula. Sierra loves supporting clients from all walks of life, and is especially attuned to working with queer parents, healthcare providers and trauma survivors.
